(Click Here to see the Courier Journal Obituary)

Patti Bright, 59, of Louisville, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on July 27, 2012.
Patti worked with us at Xerox in the early and mid 1970's until she fell in love and married Roger Bright, in 1978.  She worked in several positions at Xerox, but most notably as Sales Secretary for Dick Johnsen's team and served part time as the receptionist.  Patti made no enemies, only friends and everyone loved her.  All of her life, she loved animals, I personally remember when my daughter was a child, Patti, would, often take her horseback riding.  John Robison remembers that she had a big St. Bernard dog and when he would come to the Louisville Xerox office from Evansville, Patti would show him the most recent pictures of her St. Bernard. "She was a beautiful and very nice young lady" and will be missed by everyone who knew her!

A gentle, compassionate and loving woman, Patti dedicated her life to being a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved animals and did a great deal of animal rescue. Patti's kind soul touched many lives and she will be deeply missed.

She is reunited in Heaven with her beloved parents, Elbert Cecil "Jack" Wood and Ruby Riddell Wood; and her parents, Rudy and Daisy Scherzinger; along with numerous siblings. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 34 years, Roger Bright, her devoted children, Angela Dawn Bright Gray (Kevin) and Andrew Wood Bright; stepdaughter, Dana Bright Wissman (Kris, Jordan and Reagan), and her most recent love in life, her grandson Jackson "Jack" Andrew Gray. She is also survived by sisters Myrtle Doyle, Donna James, and Lillian Osting and brothers Terry Scherzinger and Joe Rosenbarger. Patti had such a large and loving family, she also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. All Patti ever wanted in life was to be a wife, mother and grandmother. Her whole world revolved around her family and those she loved. She found great pleasure in helping any person or animal in need. She had a beautiful heart and soul. Visitation and A memorial service was at Middletown Christian Church, 500 N. Watterson Trail, Louisville, KY.  The family requests expressions of love be sent to the Patti W. Bright Memorial Fund c/o Middletown Christian Church.

Doug Worful, Sr. died on 4/18/13, in Atlanta.  Doug was a sales representative with Xerox during the 1970's, selling copy machines and fax machines.  After Xerox he owned several. "I cant believe its Yogurt" franchise in Lexington and Louisville. After the Yogurt business, Doug founded "Onsite Dental Services" to care for patients residing in senior living communities.  As you may recall, Doug's son, Doug Jr, is a successful dentist in and around Atlanta.  Doug was in a really bad mountain cycling accident in December of 2009, causing a spinal cord injury, which left him a paraplegic.

Avid kayaker, runner and mountain biker Doug Worful, Sr. passed away at his home on the evening of 4/18/13. Pancreatic cancer is reported as the official cause of death. Doug was a man who embraced life with a passion. Even after the mountain bike accident which left him paralyzed from the chest down in 2009 he continued to boat. With a specially set up Shredder (paddle-boat), he paddled the Nantahala several times with his friends.

Doug had just bought a "mountain bike-board" he could do trails with just using his arms. Unfortunately he passed away before he could use it. He was passionate at everything he did.

"If you'd like to send a card:
Dr and Mrs Doug Worful, Jr

I'm sure his family would appreciate thoughts and memories from their Dad's Xerox co-workers". D. Troutman

COMMENTS:
* From George Hodgson-very sad. I watched the film, looked like he was handling the situation positively. And had a great support group.
* From Jim Woodcock-Sorry about Doug.  Thanks for keeping us current!
* From Diana Troutman- I spoke with Doug Jr. and he said Sr. was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer, a few months ago.  I think he went downhill quickly and as harsh as it is to say, the ending was a mercy.
From Ed Tuggle-I hate to here this! Doug trained me on how to effectively sell Fax machines. Fond memories of him and his ever present Pipe.
From Jim Kincer-Doug and I  worked as sales representatives in the Lexington Xerox branch, was a good friend and a good salesman.  Doug was always 125% at everything he did! The last time we spoke, after the accident, I was so impressed with his positive attitude and forward thinking!  We have lost a wonderful person!
