"Xerox was a life changing experience!"
Kincer was with Xerox from 1970 until April 1978.

He worked as a sales rep for K. David Robertson, in Lexington and later promoted to sales manager in Louisville.

After leaving in 1978, he and David Doll founded "Copy Corporation" (Canon Copier Dealer).  Kincer purchased Doll's interest in late 1979.  Copy Corporation was very successful over the next few years and became the largest independent copier company in Kentucky with offices in Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green, Owensboro and Evansville.  Copy Corp was sold to IKON Office Solutions 1989 and Kincer was given a contract to manage the business until 1996.

In 1990 Jim and his wife Joyce purchased two Louisville radio stations WFIA and WXLN-FM and operated both stations until they were sold in 1995.  (Jim's radio working experience began at 14 years old as a radio announcer (DJ) at his hometown radio station WNKY, until he attended college in Richmond, KY and worked through college at WEKY Radio Station and in his final year of college, he purchased WEKY and managed the station until he sold it in 1964. But he continued in the broadcasting industry in Lexington, Frankfort, Kentucky and in Amarillo, Texas until joining Xerox in 1970.

In 1992 Kincer was elected the Mayor Pewee Valley, KY . This was truly a challenging, interesting and educational experience!

Joyce and Jim Kincer
Jim "retired" in 1996 but, retirement didn’t last long, that year 1996, he founded a water purification company, (AquaPerfect) selling, leasing and servicing water coolers (to businesses).  The business grew throughout the state of Kentucky and sold to QUENCH USA in 2002.

Today, Joyce and Jim are retired and live in Pewee Valley, Kentucky, where they continue to manage their residential rental property business, JK Property (RentLouLou.com).
The whole gang is here!  2013

I was with  Xerox from 1970 to 1979.  First in Lexington for K David Robertson and in 1973, Xerox moved me to Alaska until I left in 1979.
I had been in Anchorage in 1968, serving  as an Army officer after finishing college at FSU. After the service, returned to Florida in late 1970 to attend law school at FSU. After my 1st. year, (living in a trailer with two children, two jobs and going to law school), I decided "law" wasn't for me. That's when I interviewed for the job with Xerox.

In 1973, an old Army buddy, also with Xerox in Anchorage, ask if I would be interested in returning to Alaska to help start a Xerox Branch Office. We returned to Alaska for our new adventure and I stayed with Xerox through the oil pipeline boom. In 1979. Also, in 1979, my wife, Judi passed away 1989 from cancer. Judi and I had 2 children....Sharon Ann and Robert while we were in Alaska.

In the early 1980's, my current wife, Lee and I were married and raised my son and daughter.  We now have 5 grandchildren!  Rob has 2 and Sharon has 3.

For a short time, I founded a real estate development company but, in 1980 bought a small seafood company called 10th and M Seafoods. Throughout the 80" and 90's our seafood company grew into an international business. 10th and M Seafoods carries over 350 seafood products, processes and markets salmon and halibut to grocery chains, retail stores and wholesalers throughout the USA and Europe. We are also the largest shipper of perishables by Fed-Ex from Alaska.  It has been and continues to be very successful. This is a family business, operated today by my son Rob

"With Xerox from 1973 to 1980, I worked for several sales managers but the one I remember the most was Paul Nagel.  Paul was a fun loving guy and we met our team goals and had fun doing it.  Paul was in a constant battle with his friend John Robinson, the Evansville satellite office manager.  I lived in Bowling Green, KY most of my career and had a large geographic territory in south central Kentucky".

"One of the funniest moments I remember was at a branch sales meeting, I stood up and pledged my complete allegiance and support to John Robinson and told John to acquire the Bowling Green, KY area under his team.  It brought a huge laugh and I think Paul forgave me because it was a total joke.  I also recall winning a seat on the bus to a UK football game and that bus was a wild place to be"!

"I worked for a short time after leaving Xerox for AM/Jacquard Systems and sold “Word Processors” before joining my long time ex-Xerox friend Gary Schuetz at E and S Sales and Service selling dictation equipment, typewriter and computer printer ribbons, and of course brand X copier toner!
When I left Gary I joined Canon USA as a “Facsimile Specialist” which was a wholesale sales representative and company trainer.  I had the State of Indiana, excluding Evansville and Louisville.  I later was assigned Louisville, and Copy Corporation and Jim Kincer".

"After two and one-half years of “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles” I left Canon and joined Duplicator Sales & Service as a “Facsimile Specialist” and stayed with them for 10 years.  These years represented the best years I had in the industry because they treated us as “family” and we were a very close knit group like Xerox".

"Almost 30 years in the business equipment and systems business was enough, I was "spent" and searching for a new direction for my life.  I took the Walk to Emmaus spiritual retreat weekend and decided to give the rest of my life to selling the love of Jesus Christ and to become a minister.  I entered Lexington Theological Seminary in the spring semester of 2001 and graduated with my Masters of Divinity in May of 2005.  I was “Ordained” as a minister on May 29, 2005 and was called to be the senior minister of Bloomfield First Christian Church in Bloomfield, IN and became its pastor from 2006 until 2013".

"I am now retired but still serve this church as a guest speaker from time to time".

Upon retirement, Dave and his wife, Win moved back to Louisville to be close to their children and three grandchildren.  Their son, David C. Wilde and his wife Carrie, and Dylan 4 1/2 and Dawson Wilde 1 1/2 recently moved back to Louisville, from Florida.  Their daughter, Laura Wilde Angermeier and husband Jeremy, and our granddaughter Addie live in Louisville and are active in our home church, Beargrass Christian Church.

"I play guitar and enjoy fishing in many of the church members’ farm ponds in my free time.  I make a feeble attempt a couple of times a year at a game of golf.  We have a “Welsh Pembroke Corgi” puppy named “Chrissy” who always wants to play.  We enjoy going to movies and to dinner.  We will go wherever God leads us but we hope it won’t be too far from Louisville".

Bob King

Robert (Bob) King
Buckner, KY

Bob worked in Evansville then Lexington and Finally Louisville when with Xerox

"What a shock to hear from Jim and David Doll.  I thought the email was “spam” at first, but it turned out to be a joyful reunion".

"Before I start this “attempt’ to catch you up on my life after Xerox, I must say, my short stay at Xerox had a huge impact on my professional life!  I’ve been through many sales training programs but Xerox taught me how to sell.  I never worried about having a job for the rest of my life, I knew I could carry a bag for anyone!  I fondly recall when we would break up in groups for the day and go cold calling and return to the office to see who had the most signed contracts".
OK, here goes;  What an old man can recall:

"I believe I started first in the Lexington office (possibly Evansville)!  But, in both branches, I met many fine people, but especially David Doll.  David and I had many good times together, (some we may share one day but others should be left unspoken)!  What a friend that I will always remember"!

"In Evansville, Sugar Bear Morris took me under his wing and taught me all of the tricks that are “not taught at sales school”, tricks that enabled me to better do a good job!  Sugar Bear, “My Man”!

"After Xerox I bumped around for a while and ended up back in Evansville, working for Johnson and Johnson.  Married Lois Drake and in 1980 we had our first child.  That division closed and I went to Saginaw, Michigan and our second child was born in 1981".

"Too cold for me so the next year I came back to Louisville and started working for A.T. & T.  Guess what?  My first manager at A.T. & T. was Valerie Lloyd who is married to Ed Lloyd (a Xerox and Kodak sales representative).  In fact the woman I would later marry, (after Lois died), also worked for Valerie!  Its a small world, huh"!

"At AT & T I found a home.  I sold to the small business, construction sector, statewide.  Divestiture came along and I stayed with South Central Bell’s network are,  I then moved to the major accounts banking sector, statewide and sold the first copper based high speed networks in the state and later the first fiber based networks!

I was promoted to small business sales manager in Louisville.  South Central became BellSouth.  I then went to work on the GM’s staff until the GM moved to Nashville and I continued in management in the collection center at Armory Place in Louisville.

Did that until 2000 whn BellSouth became Cingular wireless.  In 2000, after years of turning down promotions that required me to move, I was offered Regional Vice President over the west coast customer operations.  I would have 3000 employees with call centers in California and Louisiana.  We had just put my son in Centre College and my daughter was in Pitt, so I agreed and said “yes”!

I stayed in California until 2005 when it was discovered that I had Sino nasal undifferentiated carcinoma (SNUC), a rare cancer of the nasal cavity and/or paranasal sinuses.  Odds of survival were low but, God let me live.  After 9 months of surgery, chemo, radiation, I returned to work!

All of a sudden, work wasn’t important so I retired in 2005 and returned to Kentucky.  Guess what Kincer......I live in Buckner, KY!

When i returned to Kentucky, we learned the cancer had moved to my brain.  After more setbacks and surgeries, I’m still here!

I got to see my kids well entrenched in their careers, daughter is a corporate attorney at EQT Gas in Pittsburgh and my son is a Financial Advisor at Northwestern Mutual for the past 16 years.  Was able to spend time with my Dad, who passed at 84 and my Mom is still here at 89!

My Xerox career began in 1970, at which time I received a very large 5 figure “Sign-On Bonus” to join the team!

Paul at Churchill Downs 1975
My first manager was Tom Ossenford then Jim Woodcock, Bill Haggerty and Jack Davis.  I was a Sales Representative, Sales Manager, 9200 Sales Manager during my career, and even though my teams won more plaques, trophies, certificates and gifts than Logsdon, we are more modest and choose not to show them all in a picture!
I resigned the big X in 1979 and accepted a position with NTS, a commercial developer.  The Nagel family moved to Atlanta to open an office/warehouse project with NTS, and after completing the project, went to work with local Atlanta developer as V.P. project leasing!
In 1985, accepted a position with an Atlanta brokerage firm to run their office leasing division and became the company president in 1987 until I left in 1989.  And in 1989, founded my own commercial brokerage/management company and after 21 successful years, continue to manage and operate my own business.
I have been happily married for 42 years to Carol; we have two sons, two grandchildren, and one old dog!
As many of you know, my hobbies include golf, tennis, bowling, travel and “political conversations”.
Carol 2011
Xerox was good to me and I have many fond memories of the people I worked "for" and "with" during my time at Xerox, which was a special time in my life and I know that’s how many of the people in the Louisville Branch feel.

We need to have another reunion and this time let’s make sure that Jim Durman can be there so we can get some insider tips.
